About the position

The Arlington Central School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Special Education Teacher for a 1.0 FTE Anticipated Temporary position in an Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) setting for Grade 5. This role is essential for providing specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities, ensuring they have equitable access to education. The position is effective immediately and will last until January 31, 2025.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in an ICT setting.
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
• Monitor and assess student progress and adjust instruction as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding student needs and progress.

Requirements

• Minimum NYS Certification of Special Education or Students With Disabilities 1-6.
• Experience in teaching special education or related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Integrated Co-Teaching (ICT) models.
• Knowledge of current special education laws and regulations.
