About the position

The Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking motivated and energetic applicants for the position of EA Clerical for the 2024-2025 school year. This role involves providing clerical support to departments and assisting in the preparation of instructional materials under a teacher's direction. Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparation of instructional materials under a teacher's direction.
  • Provide clerical support to departments (typing, data entry, record keeping) and main office.
  • Responsible for the Safe Arrival messages and updating Infinite Campus to reflect absences.
  • Greet and respond to visitors, monitoring security cameras.
  • Monitor student behavior and/or supervise including test taking observation, lunch supervision, hallway/playground, off-campus or gym activity.
  • Maintain records and/or collect data.
  • Maintain, set up, clean, sort supplies, equipment or the student physical environment.
  • Other related duties as directed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of at least two years experience in an office setting, preferably a school setting.
  • Experience with Microsoft products, Word, Excel and Google Docs.
  • Positive social skills and ability to effectively communicate with both students and adults (staff and families).
  • Respectful phone etiquette.
  • Organized and task oriented.
  • Experience managing social media posts and website updates.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with student and private information.
  • Experience supervising students in an educational atmosphere.
  • Ability to problem-solve effectively and efficiently.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Experience with school age children.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Familiarity and ability to use various software applications (i.e., Word, MUNIS, Infinite Campus).
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse students and staff orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow written and/or oral directions and communicate clearly.
  • Ability to empathize with children and remain composed and patient with difficult behavior.
  • Ability to implement behavior management programs under supervision.
  • Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
  • Experience with Infinite Campus and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Experience with Oasys software.
  • CPR Certification.
