About the position

The Project Engineer at Hilcorp Energy Company is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Venture team to facilitate the permitting, drilling, and development of the Liberty discovery, as well as exploring opportunities in Yukon Flats and Cook Inlet in Alaska. This role requires effective project planning, scheduling, and cross-functional coordination to ensure successful project execution while adhering to the company's values and maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities of Venture team members for permitting, drilling, and development of the Liberty discovery.
  • Project planning, scheduling, and coordination across multiple functions.
  • Construct plans of development and depletion, and commercial characterization of projects.
  • Prepare and present project reviews and marketing materials internally and externally.
  • Support the company's vision and mission while adhering to established work schedules and attendance standards.
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect corporate assets by keeping information confidential.
  • Enhance technical knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional associations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of four years of reservoir engineering experience with a proven ability to generate investment opportunities.
  • Working knowledge of operations engineers, geologists, geophysicists, landmen, and other professionals to achieve team goals.
  • Ability to conduct detailed reservoir evaluations and studies.
  • Skill in integrating geological data into reservoir engineering calculations.
  • Problem-solving abilities and contributions to team goals.
  • Availability 24/7 for questions and emergencies.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Capability to manage multiple diverse tasks with differing priorities.
  • Proficiency in integrating data from various sources into reservoir models.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for translating complex information.
  • Strong project management, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, economic analysis (Aries), Nodal analysis (Petroleum Experts), and public data retrieval (IHS).

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency with geologic mapping tools (Petra).
  • Experience with rate/pressure transient analysis (Harmony suite).
  • Knowledge of computer simulation (CMG) and well log evaluation (IP).
  • Familiarity with risk assessment (Rose suite) and data visualization (Spotfire, R).
