About the position
The System Administrator (24/7 Support) role is focused on maintaining and monitoring system performance to ensure data flow continuity in a remote setting, following an initial onsite training period. The position requires troubleshooting and resolving network, hardware, and software issues, particularly in Linux environments, while also managing video feed distribution. The role emphasizes ongoing training and development to keep up with technology trends and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain system performance to ensure data flow continuity.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to stay updated on technology trends and best practices.
- Diagnose and resolve network issues, optimizing performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and maintain Linux servers, ensuring system integrity and uptime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in real-time.
- Monitor and manage video feed distribution, focusing on unicast and multicast protocols.
- Document troubleshooting processes and system configurations for future reference.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required; however, relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
- Preferred 3+ years of related experience.
- Proven troubleshooting skills in networking environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in Linux environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
- Familiarity with common operating systems (Linux, Windows, macOS) and software applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to pass a stringent background check.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with version control systems such as GitLab.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Jira and Confluence.
- Knowledge of containerization technologies, including Docker and container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes and Red Hat OpenShift.
- Experience with tools like Python, Bash, and YAML.
- Experience working with on-premises bare metal systems.
