About The Position

The Office Work Experience Trainee is a temporary work experience position designed to provide participants with the opportunity to learn essential office tasks and skills. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain practical experience in an office environment. Participants will be placed at various work sites, each offering unique experiences and skill development opportunities. The program requires participants to meet specific qualifications and to train for a predetermined number of hours, allowing them to gain valuable insights into office operations and responsibilities. In this role, trainees will perform a variety of office duties in support of an assigned department or division. This includes receiving and directing telephone calls and visitors, providing information about departmental services and operations, and assisting in the management of paperwork flow. Trainees will act as receptionists, answering phones and addressing inquiries regarding department policies and procedures. They will also maintain various files and records, ensuring that all documentation is organized according to established filing systems. Customer service is a key component of this position, as trainees will be responsible for providing information, referrals, and assistance to the general public and other departments. They will collect, sort, and accurately input data into respective database systems for tracking purposes, as well as update directories as needed. Additionally, trainees will handle the ordering and organization of materials and supplies, manage vendor services, and prepare outgoing mail. The role may also involve other duties and special projects as assigned, requiring the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
