About the position

The Retail Work Experience Trainee is a temporary position designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in retail operations. This role focuses on learning essential tasks and skills necessary for success in the retail environment, while also contributing to the overall mission of Goodwill Industries.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service and engage with customers in a friendly and cooperative manner.
• Follow all safety rules and exercise caution in work-related activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to social distancing and personal protective equipment policies.
• Receive and accurately record donations using technology.
• Sort, clean, and stock merchandise on the selling floor according to company standards.
• Merchandise and maintain the sales floor to meet established standards and guidelines.
• Load and unload trucks as needed.
• Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required.
• Perform necessary janitorial work as part of maintaining the store environment.
• Complete other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Must meet program requirements for participation in the work experience program.
• Ability to engage with customers and provide excellent service.
• Basic understanding of retail operations and safety protocols.

• Previous experience in retail or customer service is a plus.
