About The Position
The Retail Work Experience Trainee position at Goodwill Industries of Southern California is designed as a temporary work experience opportunity for individuals looking to gain essential skills in the retail sector. The program is structured to meet specific requirements, and participants will train for a predetermined number of hours, ensuring they receive comprehensive exposure to the retail industry. As a Retail Work Experience Trainee, individuals will engage directly with customers, providing excellent service while maintaining a friendly and cooperative attitude. Safety is a priority, and trainees are expected to follow all safety rules and exercise caution in their work-related activities. Maintaining a clean and safe environment is crucial, and trainees will adhere to social distancing and personal protective equipment policies and procedures. The role also involves receiving and accurately recording donations using technology, sorting, cleaning, and stocking merchandise on the sales floor, and ensuring that the sales floor meets company standards and guidelines. Additionally, trainees will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, performing necessary janitorial work, and completing other duties and special projects as assigned. Flexibility is key, as the position requires working various shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.
