About the position
The Special Education Preschool Teacher for Autism (PAC) at Fairfax County Public Schools is responsible for planning, assessing, instructing, and managing a classroom for preschool students with autism. This role supports the mission of FCPS to inspire and empower students to achieve high academic standards and demonstrate responsible citizenship.
Responsibilities
- Plan and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with autism.
- Assess student progress and adapt instruction accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Manage classroom behavior and create a safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with other educators and specialists to support student needs.
Requirements
- Must meet the certification requirements of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
- Experience working with preschool-aged children, particularly those with autism.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
