About the position

The Retail Work Experience Trainee position at Goodwill Southern California is a temporary, part-time role designed to provide participants with hands-on experience in retail operations. This position allows trainees to learn essential skills and tasks while working in various environments, contributing to the organization's mission of supporting individuals with barriers to employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent service and engage with customers in a friendly manner.
• Follow all safety rules and exercise caution in work-related activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment by adhering to social distancing and personal protective equipment policies.
• Receive and accurately record donations using technology.
• Sort, clean, and stock merchandise on the selling floor according to company standards.
• Merchandise and maintain the sales floor to meet established guidelines.
• Load and unload trucks as necessary.
• Work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime when needed.

Requirements

• Must meet program requirements for participation in the work experience program.
• Ability to engage with customers and provide excellent service.
• Basic understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
