About the position

The Receiver/Inventory Control Manager & Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for overseeing the receipt of store products, ensuring accuracy in deliveries, and maintaining inventory control. This role emphasizes customer service, vendor relations, and adherence to company policies regarding product handling and storage.

Responsibilities

  • Receives all DSD deliveries and logs them into the computer system.
  • Breaks down loads from DSD suppliers and transports products to appropriate storage areas.
  • Verifies orders against invoices and audits product cases to ensure cost and quality control.
  • Maintains invoices and reports in accordance with the record retention schedule.
  • Prevents shrink, damage, and spoilage of products by managing proper handling and storage procedures.
  • Trains employees on store policies and procedures, identifying those with potential for advancement.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards in the receiving and storage areas.
  • Operates related equipment such as manual and electric pallet jacks, balers, and compactors.

Requirements

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Basic math skills and knowledge of weights and measures.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver objects up to approximately 60 lbs.
  • Knowledge of product handling, perishability, and sanitation standards.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in inventory management or retail operations.
  • Familiarity with electronic receiving systems.
