About The Position

The 2nd Class Line Mechanic OHT at Exelon is responsible for the construction, maintenance, and service of aerial transmission facilities. This role involves working outdoors under various weather conditions, climbing utility poles and transmission towers, and operating mechanized equipment. The position requires availability for emergency situations, scheduled overtime, and shift work, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

• Valid Driver's license with ability to operate a Commercial Motor Vehicle.
• Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License within 3 months of hire date.
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Passed the EEI Aptitude Qualifying exam (CAST Test).
• Ability to climb utility poles and transmission structures up to 320 feet.
• Ability to work in confined and enclosed spaces and outdoors under all weather conditions.
• Ability to perform live line glove-hand and hot-stick work as needed.
• Proficient at operating various types of mechanized equipment and vehicles.
• Ability to lift, carry, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol tests, background checks, and physicals.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with construction and/or maintenance of electrical transmission/distribution equipment.
• Formal training in electrical theory involving voltage induction and grounding.
• Previous experience working at heights.
• Successfully completed the Northeastern Apprenticeship Training (NEAT Certificate) or the PECO Distribution Aerial Line School.

Responsibilities
