About the position

The 2nd Grade Education Teacher at Ithaca City School District is responsible for teaching New York Common Core Standards and meeting the social and academic needs of 1st Grade students. This position aims to engage, educate, and empower students, ensuring that all learners achieve academic excellence in a diverse and inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach New York Common Core Standards to 2nd Grade students.
• Meet the social and academic needs of students.
• Implement culturally responsive curriculum and create an inclusive classroom.
• Differentiate instruction to engage the learning styles and needs of each student.
• Utilize digital technology in instruction and stay current with students' digital world.

Requirements

• Possess New York State Teacher Certification in PreK-6th grade, Early Childhood Education (Birth-Grade 2), or Childhood Education (Grades 1-6).
• Hold at least a Bachelor's degree.
• Demonstrate a basic awareness of the district's commitment to eliminating race, class, and disability as predictors of academic performance.

Benefits
