About the position
The 2nd Shift Back Up Slitter is primarily responsible for manually slaughtering poultry that the automated machine process has missed. This role ensures that the birds are prepared for disassembly into required parts and portions, while adhering to all company policies and animal welfare guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Slit the neck of poultry missed by the automated killing process in preparation for disassembly.
- Perform all work in compliance with company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal regulations.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
- Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
- Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
