About the position

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 2nd Shift CNC Machinist Leader III to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 301. The hourly pay rate for this position is $32.58, plus an additional 4.5% shift premium. All offers of employment by Milwaukee Valve Company, LLC. are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, blood test, physical capabilities test, and background check, all with acceptable results. Applicants are responsible scheduling and completing the required drug screen, blood test, and physical capabilities test within 7 calendar days of offer acceptance. This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($1,000) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($1,000) is payable after one consecutive year of employment with the company. The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 3:30PM - 12:00AM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become a possibility or even required. When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the regularly scheduled shift. Overtime may also be requested or mandatory on Saturday as well.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine set up and machine operation of various CNC machines as needed.
  • Assist on-duty shift supervisor with meeting daily production requirements.
  • Help assess and assign the day's work and labor appropriately.
  • Engage in special projects, planning, and training.
  • Occasionally work with outside vendors.
  • Provide coverage for Shift Supervisor or Relief Supervisor on an as needed basis.
  • Monitor work activities, coach, instruct and assist personnel with meeting daily requirements such as machine set up, machine operations, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain safe operations and prioritize daily activities to ensure timely shipment of quality products.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum 1-year related leadership experience, training or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5-year related machining experience, training or equivalent.
  • Must attend leadership classes recommended by MV.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety policies, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels with proper etiquette.
  • Ability to deal effectively with problems and situations.
  • Basic math abilities such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CMM use.
  • Knowledge and use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficient with essential elements of current ERP System.
  • Proficient with current databases.
