About the position

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for a 2nd Shift CNC Operator to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 301. This position has a starting hourly wage of $21.30, plus an additional 4.5% shift premium. All offers of employment by Milwaukee Valve Company, LLC. are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, blood test, physical capabilities test, and background check, all with acceptable results. Applicants are responsible scheduling and completing the required drug screen, blood test, and physical capabilities test within 7 calendar days of offer acceptance. This position is eligible for a $2,000 sign-on bonus. The first half ($1,000) is payable after successful completion of the orientation period and the second half ($1,000) is payable after one year of employment. The regularly scheduled hours for this position are 3:30PM - 12:00AM, Monday through Friday. Overtime may become a possibility or even required. When working overtime, the regularly scheduled shift is adjusted by 1-2 hours at either the beginning or end of the regularly scheduled shift. Overtime may also be requested or mandatory on Saturday as well.

Responsibilities

  • Perform machine operation of assigned machine(s) where setup has been completed.
  • Maintain production runs with minimal assistance, including changing dull tooling and making minor offsets.
  • Read, comprehend, and interpret basic blueprint dimensioning.
  • Perform inspection of machined parts using general measuring instruments.
  • Load and unload parts, change inserts/tooling, and adjust wear offsets.
  • Measure parts and run jobs within quality and efficiency expectations.
  • Maintain coolant levels, lubrication oil, and clean the work area.
  • Document production and perform tool testing.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Minimum six months related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety policies, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to read blueprints and apply tolerances as defined.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Familiarity with standard PC and MS software.
  • Experience with ERP systems and databases.
