About the position

The Controls Technician will assist the Controls Engineer in project coordination, design, and troubleshooting within the plant. This role focuses on ensuring safety compliance, supporting maintenance programs, and troubleshooting various control systems, including electrical and PLC systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop project scope of work with assistance from end user
• Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed to foster a positive safety culture
• Assist with developing bid documents/RFQs for A/E and contractor scope of work
• Support the site asset management and preventive maintenance programs
• Assist maintenance technicians with troubleshooting and repairing electric, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic instruments and systems used to control plant operations.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience as a Controls Technician
• Associates Degree in a technical field
• Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety culture
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)
• Ability to use AutoCAD or related type of drafting software
• Ability to use Microsoft Office software, i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HDD Backup/Restore software, etc.
• Basic knowledge of automation software such as RSLOGIX 500, RSLOGIX 5000, FTA ME, SIEMENS STEP7 TIA PORTAL, WINCC
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and sense of urgency
• Ability to prioritize with an emphasis on quality of work
• Demonstrated ability to perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and quality
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to communicate well with all levels of staff and management.
