About the position

Genesis10 is currently seeking an Application Programmer to support the FICC Risk team in a high-pressure trading environment located in Chicago, IL. This position is a 12+ month contract role that requires the ability to quickly assimilate information from multiple sources and effectively manage technical changes. The ideal candidate will be comfortable leading daily technical change meetings and managing global resources through the bank's change process. This role demands a strong problem-solving ability, adherence to strict procedures and guidelines, and a well-rounded understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Responsibilities

• Lead daily technical change meetings managing global resources through the bank's change process.
• Generate reports through presentation and analysis tools like Tableau and MS Office.
• Adhere to written procedures and policies for Change Management.
• Develop expertise quickly and independently in relevant technologies and processes.
• Rationalize the impact of multiple concurrent issues/requests and prioritize work accordingly.
• Coordinate restoration efforts for high-impact technology incidents with confidence and focus.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a high-pressure trading environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and adherence to strict procedures and guidelines.
• Well-rounded understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
• Experience with reporting generation through tools like Tableau and MS Office.
• Intermediate SQL skills, including multi-table joins and grouping results.
• Familiarity with operating systems such as Solaris, Linux, and Windows.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Unix Shell, Perl, Python, and SQL.
• Understanding of infrastructure disciplines including network, server, storage, and messaging.
