About the position
As a Forklift Operator with Liberty Packaging, you will play a crucial role in the efficient movement of goods and materials within a high-traffic industrial environment. This position focuses on safely operating mobile equipment, managing inventory through electronic systems, and preparing shipments for transportation, all while adhering to safety regulations and company guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate mobile equipment such as forklifts, lift trucks, hoists, or other material handling equipment in a high traffic industrial environment.
- Accurately utilize an electronic scanning system to track inventory levels and product location.
- Complete pre-operation inspections and report equipment faults or damages to leadership or maintenance.
- Prepare shipments for transport, consolidate partial pallets, and operate the shrink wrap machine as needed.
- Move product and/or materials throughout the facility, including loading and unloading trailers.
- Follow safety regulations and company guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
- 1+ year experience operating mobile equipment or comparable experience in place of education.
- Previous experience with computer skills such as typing, printing, and data entry.
- Previous experience applying math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Previous experience reading, following, and/or completing detailed work instructions.
Nice-to-haves
- Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of distribution documentation: pick lists, packing slips, and bills of lading.
- Knowledge of warehouse organization, workflow as well as basic inventory control (I.e.: Amtech).
- Previous experience with reading a tape measure.
