About the position
As a 2nd Shift Full-Time Warehouse Associate at ALDI in Salisbury, North Carolina, you will play a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse. This position requires you to select and receive incoming stock to fulfill orders from stores effectively. You will be responsible for relocating merchandise throughout the warehouse according to product handling guidelines, ensuring that all items are sorted, organized, and loaded strategically in preparation for shipment. Additionally, you will unload incoming shipments from trucks and back-hauls, maintaining a clean and safe warehouse environment that meets our appearance standards and safety requirements. Your responsibilities will also include participating in warehouse inventory counts, cooperating and interacting effectively with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership through ongoing communication. You will provide input to warehouse management regarding process improvements and inspect products for quality, safety, and sanitation issues. This role requires you to act independently within your delegated area of responsibility and assist warehouse management in achieving budgeted goals. You will be expected to perform all assigned tasks accurately and efficiently, following company policies and procedures, and adhering to ergonomic guidelines while operating equipment safely. To succeed in this role, you must demonstrate ALDI's core competencies, including conscientiousness, collaboration, resilience, drive for success, and organizational efficiency. You will need to interpret and apply company policies and procedures effectively, possess excellent communication skills, and have the ability to perform basic arithmetic. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, and you must be able to lift and place products weighing up to 45 pounds, work in varying temperatures, and operate powered industrial equipment safely.
Responsibilities
- Selects and receives incoming stock efficiently to fulfill orders from stores.
- Relocates merchandise throughout the warehouse according to product handling guidelines.
- Sorts, organizes, and loads merchandise strategically in preparation for shipment.
- Unloads incoming shipments from trucks and back-hauls.
- Performs general cleaning duties to achieve warehouse appearance standards and safety requirements.
- Participates in warehouse inventory counts according to guidelines.
- Cooperates and interacts effectively with peers, suppliers, and warehouse leadership through ongoing communication.
- Provides input to warehouse management regarding changes to improve processes.
- Inspects product and consults with warehouse management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
- Acts and decides independently within the delegated area of responsibility.
- Assists warehouse management in achieving budgeted goals.
- Performs all assigned tasks accurately, efficiently, and within company policy and procedures.
- Follows the ergonomic program according to established procedures.
- Operates equipment according to safety guidelines in performance of essential job functions.
- Notifies management regarding product quality, safety concerns, and sanitation issues.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role at ALDI.
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skill of performing basic arithmetic equations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Gives attention to detail and follows instructions.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
