About the position

The 2nd Shift Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Human Resources department, focusing on employment and employee relations, recruiting, and training. This role ensures compliance with company policies and legal requirements while providing guidance to managers and employees on HR matters.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day activities in the Human Resources department to ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Counsel and guide managers on performance management measures and assist in documentation.
  • Advise managers on state and federal regulations regarding employee issues.
  • Coordinate the recruitment process for salaried openings, including sourcing and interviewing.
  • Conduct new hire orientation and ensure accurate completion of new hire paperwork.
  • Identify employee needs related to performance and training, making recommendations accordingly.
  • Provide HR-related training on performance counseling and employee relations.
  • Research and resolve employee complaints and grievances as needed.
  • Gather and compile data for required reports and communicate findings to personnel.
  • Administer the NOCTI program, including testing and promotions based on performance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency.
  • Mentor and coach employees, providing feedback on performance and development.
  • Promote safety initiatives and maintain a zero accident culture.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline preferred, or a combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum two years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, focusing on employment and employee relations.
  • At least one year of leadership experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written; ability to communicate in multiple languages preferred.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively with others, demonstrating tact and discretion.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and experience with HCM systems like Workday.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience supervising employees preferred.
