About the position

The Lead Production Associate plays a crucial role in the assembly line operations within a fast-paced order fulfillment environment. This position serves as a vital link between the Shift Supervisor and the production staff, ensuring that communication flows smoothly and that the team operates efficiently. The Lead Production Associate is responsible for training and coaching production associates, which is essential for maintaining high productivity levels and ensuring that all team members are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their tasks effectively. Additionally, this role involves tracking line efficiency through detailed line paperwork, which helps in identifying areas for improvement and ensuring that production goals are met. In this position, the Lead Production Associate must prioritize safety and cleanliness in the work environment. This includes implementing and enforcing safety guidelines to protect all team members and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. The Lead Production Associate is also tasked with overseeing the quality system within the production facility, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) standards. This involves organizing and tracking quality information, as well as working proactively to improve quality standards across the production line. The Lead Production Associate will assist the Production Manager with various responsibilities, including supervising facility operations and staff, executing production plans, and tracking production metrics. This role requires a strong organizational skill set and the ability to motivate and direct individuals and teams effectively. The Lead Production Associate must also be prepared to recommend methods for improving production processes and quality, contributing to the overall success of the production facility.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the Shift Supervisor and production staff.
  • Train and coach production associates.
  • Track line efficiency on line paperwork.
  • Escalate issues to supervision as necessary.
  • Ensure the team operates in a safe and clean environment.
  • Assist the Production Manager with supervision of facility and staff.
  • Execute production plans and assignments.
  • Track production metrics.
  • Maintain and improve the condition of production equipment and facility.
  • Organize and track inventory using a systematic process.
  • Oversee an effective quality system with adherence to GMP standards.
  • Organize and track all quality information in a clear and timely manner.
  • Work to improve quality standards in the production facility.
  • Implement and enforce safety guidelines.
  • Provide and document proper training for production staff.
  • Recommend methods to improve production and quality.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and direct individuals and teams.
  • Excellence in verbal and written communication.
  • Strong organizational skills and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and hardworking personality.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly.
