About the position
The 2nd Shift Lift Truck Operator at GFF Inc is responsible for efficiently picking and transporting raw materials for production, ensuring accurate order fulfillment and maintaining a safe working environment. This role involves operating a forklift, managing inventory, and adhering to company procedures and safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Picks raw materials orders for Production.
- Accurately selects flooring product orders, palletizes, and shrink-wraps each order.
- Transports products to and from production into the warehouse.
- Stores products in proper places in the production warehouse.
- Delivers products in a safe and timely manner.
- Sorts, packs, wraps, ties, and labels products as per company procedures.
- Monitors and maintains accurate inventory.
- Cleans work area and equipment regularly by removing empty pallets, wood, and plastic.
- Follows company standards and legal regulations to ensure a safe and positive working atmosphere.
- Performs routine pre and post inspections.
- Recommends repairs.
- Studies production schedule to determine material requirements, movements, and deliveries.
- Identifies and reports faulty equipment, damages, and safety concerns to the Supervisor immediately.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Education or equivalent required.
- 1-2 years of Warehouse experience.
- One (1) year of experience operating a Forklift.
- Ability to use a computer and/or RF Scanner.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environment and practices.
