About the position

The 2nd Shift Logistics Production Manager at Caterpillar Inc. is responsible for overseeing and improving manufacturing processes and systems within the facility. This role involves collaboration with team members to enhance production efficiency, ensure safety compliance, and manage outbound shipments. The manager will also lead training initiatives and drive continuous improvement projects to optimize operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the team to maintain and improve manufacturing processes and systems.
  • Analyze and recommend current and future systems procedures and equipment needs based on manufacturing requirements.
  • Report section status and monitor related metrics.
  • Drive root cause corrective action projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead section status reporting and monitor/audit section metrics.
  • Create, implement, and train standard work procedures.
  • Manage outbound shipments for multiple customer types, including processing and documentation for overseas shipments.
  • Monitor and improve shop floor safety, eliminating unsafe processes.
  • Ensure fixtures, tooling, and processes meet production schedules.
  • Increase production efficiency through continuous improvement and waste elimination.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety and ability to identify work-related hazards.
  • Ability to conduct effective formal and situation-specific training on production machinery.
  • Knowledge of human resources and talent management processes.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, evaluate, and reward employees.
