About the position
The Machine Operator (Automatics III) at Parker Hannifin Corporation is responsible for the setup, operation, adjustment, and maintenance of multiple-spindle screw machines. This role is crucial for ensuring that metal cutting operations meet required quality and production levels. The operator will work closely with other facility associates to promote a positive working environment and maintain effective communication across the shop floor.
Responsibilities
- Adjust all machine tooling and machine fixtures.
- Grind all backup tooling associated with the machine.
- Understand the basic concepts of feeds and speeds.
- Perform setups of devices for conventional, NOCAM screw machines, BTB's, Collets and Pads, Drills, Mill Holders, Cams, Taps Recess Holders, Pushers, Reamers and Step drills.
- Understand basic tool geometries: Clearances, Rake Angles, Margins, Lands.
- Troubleshoot basic machining problems such as chatter, roughness, tool marks, short feedouts, and concentricity.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years machine setup & operation experience
- Ability to read, write, and converse in English
- Ability to work well with other facility associates
- Effective communication skills with shop personnel
