About the position
The Industrial Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of production equipment by performing timely repairs and preventive maintenance. This position requires a strong focus on safety and efficiency, as the technician will troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues to prevent production line stoppages. The role involves working with various types of machinery and requires both mechanical and electrical skills to maintain and repair equipment effectively.
Responsibilities
- Analyze mechanical and operational processing equipment and resolve issues using hand and trade tools.
- Repair production equipment, including mechanical systems such as hydraulic and pneumatic operated equipment.
- Troubleshoot electrical problems, including opening electrical panels and replacing starters, contactors, and relays.
- Complete preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, and packaging machines following diagrams and manufacturer's instructions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electrical skills with VFDs and PLCs.
- Perform industrial electrical installations, services, repairs, and wiring in an industrial environment.
- Read and interpret schematic drawings for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Utilize a computer-based program for entering labor hours, PMs, and safety work orders.
- Maintain a safe workplace by adhering to safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
Requirements
- Completion of a formal two-year educational program in Industrial Maintenance or 1-2 years of related work experience.
- Good mechanical and electrical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced work environment and meet deadlines.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of FORMAX, HVAC, HAZMAT, MULTIVAC, and Ammonia Refrigeration.
