About the position

The 2nd Shift Manufacturing Process Engineer at Roll Forming Corporation is a hands-on role focused on supporting production operations in a manufacturing facility. The engineer will engage in troubleshooting, process optimization, and the development of new products while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. This position requires a proactive approach to improving existing processes and addressing production issues.

Responsibilities

  • Engage in hands-on process engineering support for the production floor by launching new products, working on production issues, and on process improvements.
  • Use engineering principles to provide production operations support with hands-on troubleshooting and development.
  • Lead process optimization for the facility.
  • Act as a technical resource for machine capabilities and product limitations on new parts.
  • Improve process control and product quality.
  • Maximize operational effectiveness, including bottleneck analysis and set-up time reduction.
  • Review tooling, machine, and product drawings using 3D CAD software.
  • Troubleshoot machine and tooling issues for production and product launches.
  • Assist Quality Assurance in qualifying gauges and other measuring devices for production processes.
  • Serve as customer contact for process-related concerns, with some travel required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with metal-forming processes such as roll forming, progressive stamping, tooling, welding, tube bending, CNC machining, and/or laser cutting.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office with advanced Excel knowledge, CAD, and the ability to learn new software.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
  • US Person as defined by ITAR & EAR.

Nice-to-haves

  • Engineering degree (Electrical or Mechanical preferred).
  • Experience with roll forming or progressive stamping, tryout or R&D.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, manual mills & lathes, PLC, electrical controls programming, PFMEA, SPC, GD&T, and quality certification systems.
