About the position
The 2nd Shift Material Handler at Richelieu Foods is responsible for transporting supplies to the required production areas, ensuring compliance with good manufacturing practices, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. This role requires effective communication with internal customers and coordination with other Material Handlers to ensure efficient operations within the department.
Responsibilities
- Transport all needed supplies correctly and on time to required line or pre-batch area.
- Communicate with internal customers to determine proper quantities and placement of items needed.
- Comply with good manufacturing practices, maintaining proper sanitation and housekeeping in the area.
- Properly put away any warehouse picks.
- Communicate and coordinate with other Material Handlers to ensure efficient operation of the department.
- Inform proper departments or supervisors of any issues or concerns.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 2 Years of consistent and safe fork lift operation on a stand up forklift.
- The ability to read and understand line schedules and material needs.
- Positive attendance record.
- Safe operation of stand-up fork truck.
Nice-to-haves
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
