About the position
The Injection Mold Technician is responsible for overseeing the injection molding process at ITW's manufacturing facility in Lakeville, CT. This role involves constructing, altering, and repairing complex molds, ensuring production efficiency, and maintaining machine operations. The technician will also perform quality checks, manage production records, and promote safety in the workplace.
Responsibilities
- Construct, alter, and repair molds of a complex nature.
- Implement and monitor process controls to improve production yield and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and reduce rework/scrap by analyzing root causes.
- Verify set-up parameters of the injection molding process and machine condition.
- Perform accurate mold set-ups and process monitoring.
- Conduct quality checks according to control plans and complete production paperwork.
- Maintain set-up sheets and production records for the shift.
- Perform predictive and preventative maintenance on machines.
- Operate hand tools, grinders, scales, and drying equipment.
- Handle materials and monitor auxiliary equipment.
- Communicate effectively with prior and oncoming shifts regarding work assignments and expectations.
- Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency, collaborating with quality inspectors.
Requirements
- 2-year Associate degree in Machine Tool or equivalent training program.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in injection molding and tooling field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong mechanical ability.
- Attention to detail.
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
