About the position

The 2nd Shift Order Selector at Vistar is responsible for selecting and preparing food and non-food products for customer orders in a multi-level warehouse environment. This role involves operating electric pallet jacks and forklifts to transport items, ensuring safety and quality standards are met while maintaining productivity. The position requires teamwork and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Select cases and containers of products to fill customer orders from warehouse storage systems.
• Operate electric pallet jack/forklift to move completed orders to the loading dock staging area.
• Wrap, label, and prepare orders for shipment while observing safety regulations.
• Follow preferred work methods and safety policies as per company guidelines.
• Review work schedule and prepare for operations by obtaining necessary supplies.
• Perform safety checks on equipment and ensure all safety devices are functioning properly.
• Meet productivity and accuracy standards as per company guidelines.
• Transport completed orders to the shipping dock staging area and shrink-wrap pallets as needed.
• Complete vehicle inspection checklist and secure equipment at the end of the shift.

Requirements

• Must be able to work scheduled times and required overtime.
• Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Capable of lifting, stacking, and pulling products weighing between 10-90 pounds.
• Ability to work in multi-temperature environments (cooler, freezer, dry).
• Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.

Nice-to-haves

• High School Diploma/GED or State Approved Equivalent
• 6 Months - 1 Year of warehouse and/or distribution work experience using a motorized pallet jack.
• Experience in foodservice distribution or related industry.
• Motorized pallet jack certification.
