About the position
The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor at Hitachi Automotive Systems Americas is responsible for executing production strategies and tactical plans at various sites. This role involves developing priorities and objectives in collaboration with site management teams, overseeing implementation, and serving as a corporate resource for production staff and management. The supervisor is expected to exercise independent judgment while ensuring effective operations, quality improvement, cost management, and employee training within their assigned area.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the effective operation of the work center or assigned area.
- Ensure quality improvement and schedule attainment.
- Manage cost improvement initiatives.
- Conduct employee training and development.
- Control operating supplies for the area.
- Ensure the safety of team members.
- Foster cooperation and harmony among team members.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.
- Associates Degree or additional vocational training is preferred.
- At least 2 years of prior related experience is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
- Ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
