About the position

The 2nd Shift Production Supervisor at Hitachi Astemo Americas, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the execution of production strategies and tactical plans at the HIAMS AM sites. This role involves developing priorities and objectives in collaboration with site management teams and ensuring their implementation. The supervisor acts as a corporate resource for all production staff and management teams across various sites, exercising independent judgment while adhering to established guidelines. The position requires a focus on quality improvement, schedule attainment, cost improvement, employee training, and maintaining safety standards for team members. The supervisor is expected to cultivate the talents of their direct labor crews, fostering an atmosphere of cooperation and harmony while following approved policies. This role is critical in ensuring the effective operation of the assigned work center or area, contributing to the overall success of the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the effective operation of the assigned work center or area.
  • Implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure schedule attainment for production goals.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent is necessary.
  • Associates Degree or additional vocational training is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of prior related experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform duties utilizing current company software applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
