About the position
The Electrician position at Johnson Controls involves installing, repairing, and replacing electrical circuitry and components in various units. This role requires collaboration with engineers and technicians to ensure efficient operations within the Test Lab, focusing on safety, teamwork, and critical thinking. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, or replace electrical circuitry and components of units being assembled, repaired, or tested.
- Support product testing with power connections and troubleshoot electrical issues.
- Install and commission new electrical equipment.
- Perform facility equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Carry out voltage tap changes on VFD drives.
- Build electrical enclosures and train other electricians as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in electrical work.
- Ability to use tools and test equipment of the trade, including ladders and material handling equipment.
- Journeyman level qualification desired.
- Familiarity with electrical codes and ability to work from drawings and schematics.
Nice-to-haves
- Completion of a 120-day training program covering basic safety requirements and technical competencies.
