About the position

The Warehouse Material Handler is a crucial role within our operations, responsible for the fulfillment of customer orders by efficiently retrieving and stacking products as specified on the Pick Ticket or computer screen. This position requires the handler to navigate the warehouse's pick area, ensuring that pallets of products are built in a stable manner while adhering to safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards set by the warehouse and the company. The role is part-time, with a start time of 6 PM, and is designed for individuals who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. In this position, the Warehouse Material Handler will be tasked with retrieving specific quantities of product cases and placing them onto pre-determined pallets. This process involves using a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), specifically a pallet jack, to transport these pallets to various areas within the warehouse. The handler must also maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse, perform daily checks on the PIT, and report any issues to warehouse management. Attention to detail is essential, as the handler must correct any discrepancies in product or quantity as identified by the checker. The role may also involve miscellaneous activities that support the efficient operation of the warehouse, adapting to the dynamic needs of the environment. The ideal candidate will be an intentional self-starter, capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team, while also being flexible with their schedule to meet the demands of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Retrieves and places quantities of cases of product onto a pre-determined pallet as instructed by the assigned Pick Ticket.
  • Travels to and transports pallets of stacked product to different areas of the warehouse via a Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) - Pallet Jack.
  • Assists in warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping as assigned or as needed.
  • Performs daily PIT checklist and alerts warehouse management of any issues discovered.
  • Corrects any mistakes discovered and informed of by the checker to product and/or quantity.
  • May perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the warehouse.
  • Performs miscellaneous activities as directed to support the efficient operation of a warehouse in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

  • Knowledge acquired through up to 12 months of work experience.
  • PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification: Pallet Jack.
