About the position
The 2nd Shift Warehouse Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse employees and ensuring efficient operations in shipping and receiving building materials. This role involves training staff, managing workflows, and maintaining high standards of safety and organization within the warehouse environment.
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise warehouse employees and manage their daily activities.
- Train employees on proper methods for handling products and using equipment.
- Assign duties and monitor work for accuracy and adherence to policies.
- Enforce safe work practices and conduct training on safety protocols.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate inbound and outbound freight operations, including scheduling and communication with carriers.
- Assist in quality control for all shipments, both inbound and outbound.
- Support the team in pulling and receiving orders as needed.
- Participate in warehouse re-organization and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare work schedules and expedite workflow to meet operational needs.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance team performance.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse operations or a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to analyze and resolve discrepancies in inventory records.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse management.
