About the position

This is a full-time onsite position at a BAE Systems facility, specifically on the 2nd shift (Weekday Nights). The role requires consistent, in-person collaboration and is focused on manufacturing engineering within microelectronics manufacturing cells. The team member will support the bonding cell, assisting in the development, sustainment, and improvement of processes via both automated and manual machinery. Responsibilities include nonconforming material review, FAI support, and design of custom fixtures, while driving continuous improvement activities for cost reduction in the factory. The position involves coordinating with various functions to support front line issues and mentoring other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development, sustainment, and improvement of processes in wire and ribbon bonding work cells.
  • Support nonconforming material review and FAI support.
  • Design custom fixtures for factory-wide initiatives.
  • Execute day-to-day production goals.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional employees to implement innovative solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities for cost reduction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline or related Technical degree.
  • 6 years or more of process engineering experience.
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated leadership to support the manufacturing team.
  • Ability to present and communicate data clearly.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Experience working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems.
  • Experience with wire/ribbon bonding processes/equipment.
  • Lean knowledge/manufacturing experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Six Sigma training or projects.
  • Knowledge of hybrid multichip module design.
  • Experience with Gage R+R.
  • Experience with Design Of Experiments.
  • Experience with automated high power microscopes and automated optical inspection.
  • Experience training engineers and operators with complex assembly processes.
