This is a full-time Image Data Engineer position based in Cleveland, OH, where local hires are prioritized. The role presents a unique opportunity to delve into image processing pipelines specifically for 3D Gaussian Splatting. As a hybrid of research and development (R&D) and product development, you will be responsible for developing and implementing image processing pipelines for multiview, multiscale image data generated from our hardware. Additionally, you will design and build scalable cloud infrastructures to process, transfer, store, and manage this data effectively. Candidates should be aware that this position requires a strong background in image processing. Familiarity with common functions in software like Photoshop or GIMP is essential, and you should be able to articulate these functions using mathematical and coding principles. This is not a remote position, and the company currently does not have the capacity to provide immigration support. The ideal candidate will have experience in image processing, machine vision, and data engineering, with a keen interest in 3D rendering, deep learning, and computer graphics. Proficiency in Python for image processing, including libraries such as Pillow, OpenCV, scikit-image, and ITK, is required. Knowledge of traditional computer vision techniques is essential, and familiarity with AI image processing is a plus. You should be capable of implementing and optimizing deep learning algorithms developed by others. The role also requires comfort in using software tools to prototype new pipelines and the ability to translate these prototypes into code quickly. Experience with cloud services like AWS or Azure is also beneficial, as the data processing infrastructure will be built on the cloud. At OpsiClear, we are revolutionizing clinical image visualization by integrating hardware and software to create vivid 3D visualizations of clinically relevant objects. As an early-stage startup, you will be among the first members of our team, which means you will play a crucial role in shaping our culture and foundational practices. This position offers the freedom to make critical decisions, but it also requires a proactive, responsible, and self-motivated individual. Working in a small team may lead to feelings of isolation or lack of support, and candidates should be prepared for a dynamic and sometimes unclear work environment.
