About the position

The 3D Visual Designer will join the ADAS and Driver Information team within Digital Product Design at Ford, focusing on creating a best-in-class Situational Awareness experience that enhances customer confidence and safety while driving. This role involves collaboration with designers, product managers, and engineers to develop innovative 3D renderings and animations that visualize vehicle intent, autonomy, navigation, and road information.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product designers and engineers to create innovative, nuanced, and highly crafted 3D renderings and animation
• Envision, develop, and create 3D elements from concept-to-implementation
• Support motion design by providing high-fidelity rendered graphics
• Deliver uncompromised design fidelity while also striving for production efficiency
• Translate 2D designs to high-fidelity 3D content to development teams for seamless implementation
• Utilize software skills in 3D software Maya, Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop & After Effects)

Requirements

• Bachelors Degree, or educational/experience equivalent, in Graphic Design, Drafting/Design, 2D/3D Animation, etc.
• Maya (2-3 years experience)
• Adobe Software (2-3 years experience)

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in 3D modeling, unwrapping, and animation in Maya, will consider similar toolset
• Experience with Figma and ProtoPie
• Strong collaboration, communication, multi-tasking, and organization skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Knowledge of the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies
• Previous automotive experience is a plus
• Proven creative work experience in digital product design solutions
