About the position

The IT Support Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and troubleshooting the technology systems utilized by MERSINO. This position is responsible for setting up, managing, and resolving issues related to computer and software networks. The IT Support Specialist will respond to hardware problems, update system software, and track data and communications across the network. This role requires both teamwork and individual contributions to ensure the overall success of the IT department. In this position, the IT Support Specialist will manage daily IT support calls and support tickets, ensuring that all equipment needs are met through the setup and disbursement of desktop and laptop systems across the company. Routine updates to equipment and devices will be part of the responsibilities, along with resolving employee technology issues. The specialist will interact with employees to assist in troubleshooting and identifying the root causes of system problems. Additionally, training employees and other users on the proper use of MERSINO systems and applications is a key aspect of the role. Collaboration with the IT team to develop and improve existing training documentation is expected, as well as providing remote desktop support and assisting with the deployment and management of the mobile device management system. This position is essential for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the company's IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily IT support calls and support tickets
  • Support the company's equipment needs through setup and disbursement of desktop and laptop computer systems company-wide
  • Perform routine updates to equipment and devices
  • Resolve employee technology issues
  • Interact with employees to assist in troubleshooting to identify the root cause of system problems
  • Train employees and other users on proper use of MERSINO systems and applications
  • Work with the IT team to develop and improve existing training documentation
  • Provide remote desktop support
  • Assist with the deployment and management of the mobile device management system

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of experience supporting a Windows computer environment
  • Bachelor's degree in an IT-related field preferred
  • Basic understanding of mobile devices, both Android and Apple preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with customer or employee support
  • Experience with remote management tools
  • Experience with AirWatch or equivalent mobile device management platforms

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications not required, but are a plus (A+, N+, MCP, MCSA/E, VCP)
  • Ability to commute to Northbrook, IL 60062
