About the position

As a Banking Specialist II at First Bank, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional client service and handling various banking transactions. This position, also known by titles such as New Accounts Representative or Senior Teller, emphasizes your expertise in managing transactions at the teller window while expanding your skills to assist clients with new accounts and other non-monetary transactions. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that clients receive the highest level of service, which includes accurately and efficiently opening new accounts and maintaining existing ones as requested by clients. You will also be responsible for quoting rates, terms, and fees on various products and services, ensuring compliance with necessary disclosures, and obtaining NMLS registration as required. In addition to account management, you will promote alternative delivery systems such as Online Banking, Online Bill Pay, and ATM services, helping clients understand the benefits of these options. You will identify client needs for borrowing and assist in originating consumer loan applications, contributing to the processing and closing of these loans. Your role will also involve increasing sales and cross-sell opportunities by participating in sales events, making outbound calls, and engaging in promotional activities. To foster a client-friendly environment, you will greet clients warmly, often by name, and ensure their transactions—such as deposits, withdrawals, and payments—are processed accurately and promptly. Compliance is a key aspect of your role, as you will perform cash audits, alarm tests, and other regulatory tasks to protect the interests of both the bank and its clients. You will also be responsible for balancing your cash drawer daily and reporting any discrepancies to management. As a Banking Specialist II, you will have the opportunity to mentor Banking Specialist I team members, sharing your knowledge of products, services, and procedures. Your contributions will directly impact the bank's success by identifying sales opportunities and referring clients to appropriate areas, ultimately driving branch profitability and enhancing client satisfaction. You will also engage in community service activities to help the bank meet its Community Reinvestment Act goals, further solidifying your role as a vital member of the First Bank family.
