About the position

The WMS Implementation Lead is responsible for the successful rollout of a Warehouse Management System (WMS) that aligns with operational goals and customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs). This role serves as the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Supply Chain operations, supporting process and system development, training, and change management throughout the implementation phases.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the systems implementation team to deliver a WMS instance across the US Foods network.
  • Evaluate current and/or intended warehouse environments and configure processes and technology to achieve intended outcomes.
  • Document new processes for warehouse functions aligned with new technology.
  • Contribute to risk assessment and mitigation related to change activities.
  • Provide hands-on training to the local Operations Team as a SME.
  • Drive accountability for project execution and delivery based on warehouse KPIs and customer SLAs.
  • Execute system configuration, implementation, and testing activities within the project scope.
  • Assist operational teams with the transition from as-is to to-be processes and systems.
  • Evaluate system and operational performance to identify issues or opportunities for improvement.
  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders professionally.

Requirements

  • BS Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or equivalent related work experience.
  • Minimum 6 years of experience leading process development in complex warehouse environments or WMS implementations.
  • Up to 50% travel required.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in identifying potential issues and developing contingency plans.
  • Experience delivering on-the-job coaching to warehouse staff regarding processes and systems.
  • Strong skills in developing workflow solutions to simplify process operations.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Visio, Word, PowerPoint) and/or G Suite.
  • Experience with modern cloud-based warehouse management solutions (e.g., Blue Yonder, Manhattan, SAP, Oracle).
