3rd Class IMP Fitter

About the position

The 3rd Class IMP Fitter position at Stellar Energy involves the installation and assembly of Insulated Metal Panels (IMP) within a fabrication facility. The role requires a strong understanding of job specifications, blueprint reading, and the ability to work with various materials to ensure the structural integrity and quality of the installation. The position emphasizes safety, quality control, and adherence to industry standards while working both in the facility and occasionally at construction job sites.

Responsibilities

• Understand job specifications and blueprints for accurate installation of IMPs.
• Measure and check for true, plumb, and square alignment of structures.
• Cut, prep, fit, and tack IMPs and flashing from various materials to a weld-ready status.
• Select and use appropriate tools for preparing IMPs according to job requirements.
• Monitor and ensure quality, safety, and health regulations are followed during work.
• Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Document quality reporting methods as per SEA Quality Standards.
• Prepare for ISO 9001 and other audits.

Requirements

• Basic math and language skills are required.
• Experience in grinding, welding, brazing, rigging, and cutting sheet metal is necessary.
• 1 year of related experience or training is required.

Nice-to-haves

• 1 year of experience specifically with Insulated Metal Panels (IMP) is preferred.
• Some vocational technical training is desired.
