About the position

The 3rd Grade Dual Immersion Spanish Teacher will be responsible for teaching various subjects including reading, language arts, mathematics, social science, general science, health, art, physical education, and music to students in a dual immersion setting. The teacher will develop instructional materials, provide individualized and group instruction, and create a conducive learning environment while evaluating students' academic and social growth.

Responsibilities

• Teach students in various subjects including reading, language arts, mathematics, social science, general science, health, art, physical education, and music.
• Develop programs and instructional materials tailored to the needs of each pupil.
• Provide individualized and group instruction to adapt the curriculum.
• Establish procedures for maintaining proper control to enhance learning.
• Create and maintain a suitable learning environment.
• Evaluate pupils' academic and social growth, keeping appropriate records and preparing progress reports.
• Communicate with parents regarding individual pupil progress.
• Identify pupil needs and work towards fulfilling those needs with professional staff assistance.
• Maintain attendance records and administer group standardized tests as per District and State testing programs.
• Participate in curriculum and related programs at the school and District level.
• Plan and coordinate the work of aides, teacher assistants, and other paraprofessionals as needed.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in self-selected professional growth activities.

Requirements

• Valid California Multiple Subject Teaching Credential.
• Certification for primary language instruction in Spanish (Bilingual Authorization, BCLAD, Bilingual Cross-Cultural Specialist Credential, or Bilingual Certificate of Competence).
• Completion of EdJoin application.
• Letter of interest.
• Current resume.
• Credential-Clear or Preliminary, Multiple Subject.
• Copy of Spanish BCLAD certification.
• Copy of English Learner Authorization (CLAD or equivalent).
• NCLB Compliance documentation.
• Copy of transcripts showing evidence of a BA degree.
• Copy of CBEST and CSET results.
• 2-3 letters of recommendation.
• TB results completed within the last year.
