About the position

The 3rd Grade Teacher at Cave Language Academy will be responsible for delivering a comprehensive Spanish Dual Immersion curriculum to students in the 2024-2025 school year. This position requires a passionate educator who is committed to fostering a positive learning environment that promotes bilingualism and biliteracy among students. The teacher will engage students in a variety of instructional strategies that support language acquisition and academic achievement in both English and Spanish. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the developmental needs of third graders and will be skilled in creating lesson plans that are both engaging and educational. In addition to teaching core subjects, the teacher will collaborate with other educators and staff to develop and implement school-wide initiatives that enhance the educational experience for all students. This role also involves communicating with parents and guardians to keep them informed about their child's progress and to foster a supportive home-school connection. The teacher will be expected to assess student performance regularly and adjust instruction as needed to meet the diverse needs of learners in the classroom. The successful candidate will be dedicated to promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity within the classroom, ensuring that all students feel valued and supported. The teacher will also participate in professional development opportunities to enhance their teaching practices and stay current with educational trends and best practices in dual immersion education.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Valid teaching credential in California with a BCLAD (Bilingual Crosscultural Language and Academic Development) authorization in Spanish.
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching elementary school students, preferably in a dual immersion setting.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish.
