About the position

The Ingredient Operator for the 3rd shift is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of ingredients in the production of food products, specifically peanut butter. This role involves collaboration with the Production Supervisor and Quality Assurance Department to ensure food quality and safety, while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the facility. The operator will monitor ingredient usage, maintain proper flow rates, and adhere to GMP and quality policies.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive 10 minutes early for shift handover.
  • Verify correct peanuts with the Production Supervisor or Team Lead.
  • Confirm the production formula being used.
  • Clean and sanitize the mill hopper before starting the shift.
  • Maintain a consistent flow of peanuts from storage bins to the jar filler or bulk station.
  • Understand the entire process flow from peanuts entering the primary bin to packaging.
  • Ensure ingredient bags are vacuumed for dust before emptying into bins.
  • Run the hot oil flush system for sanitation and product cleanout.
  • Follow re-work protocols and complete necessary paperwork for traceability.
  • Record lot numbers of each ingredient used during production.
  • Log any downtime and explain the reason and duration on downtime report sheets.
  • Follow the FIFO method for ingredient usage.
  • Keep track of ingredient levels and rates, recording them on the Ingredient Feed Rate Form.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary work area by sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash.
  • Assist fellow employees in other areas when necessary.
  • Complete reports and forms assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in production manufacturing, preferably in food production.
  • Familiarity with food manufacturing principles.
  • GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) training.
  • Inventory control and stock rotation knowledge.
  • Proficiency in basic math and computer skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
