About the position

The Operator I position at Parkway Products, LLC involves performing inspection and packaging of plastic parts while adhering to all plant and OSHA safety policies and regulations. This role is critical in ensuring that the manufactured parts meet quality standards and are packaged correctly for shipment. The operator will be responsible for running injection mold machines, processing parts according to job instructions, and maintaining accurate production records. The position requires a keen eye for detail to visually inspect parts for defects and ensure compliance with specified requirements. The operator will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, which is essential for safety and efficiency in the manufacturing environment. In this role, the operator must demonstrate the ability to run two injection mold machines independently within six months of employment. This includes constructing boxes for packing, entering information on log sheets for quality checks, and lifting and carrying boxes weighing up to 50 lbs. The operator will also need to communicate effectively with the shift supervisor regarding any machine malfunctions or issues with scrap quantities. Building effective working relationships with coworkers is also emphasized, as teamwork is vital in a manufacturing setting. Additional duties may be assigned as needed, making flexibility and adaptability important traits for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Run 2 Injection Mold machines independently by six month mark.
  • Process manufactured parts per job instructions, pack verified amounts, and label appropriately.
  • Construct boxes for packing at assigned machine.
  • Visually inspect parts for defects as noted on QPM and sample boards to ensure quality parts are being packed in compliance with specified requirements.
  • Cut off runners with gate cutters and inspect items to ensure finished parts meet specifications.
  • Enter information on log sheets every two hours as quality checks are made to ensure product consistency and conformity to quality standards.
  • Understand production records and keep accurate counts of accepted, rejected, and scrapped product as noted on packing logs.
  • Lift and carry boxes (up to 50 lbs.) to pallets for removal to shipping or storage, occasionally using a pallet jack.
  • Keep the assigned work area well organized, clean, and neat.
  • Alert shift supervisor of machine malfunction or scrap quantity issues.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other coworkers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
