About the position

We are seeking a full-time Press Operator to efficiently assist in the operation of 200-ton presses for single-level parts in a manufacturing environment. The role involves ensuring part quality, operating various types of presses, and performing necessary maintenance and recordkeeping while adhering to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Process quality parts on powder metal presses and related equipment.
• Make necessary adjustments on all assigned machines to assure part quality.
• Operate all types of compacting or restrike presses.
• Use calibrated gauges to check and record production on specific tolerances as required by process documentation.
• Load and unload parts and visually inspect parts for defects.
• Check and weigh parts according to schedule and job specifications.
• Perform necessary recordkeeping and paperwork.
• Help train and assist operators as required.
• Seek help if problems arise and ask questions if you don't understand.
• Perform necessary preventative maintenance on machines as required.
• Participate in team problem solving as part of the departmental continuous improvement process.
• Use various testing devices, chemicals, and material moving equipment according to appropriate guidelines and procedures.
• Follow all safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.
• Wear all personal protective equipment as required by the safety policy.
• Be responsible and accountable for the professional use of assigned work periods, machinery, equipment, and tools.
• Support and participate in the departmental structure of self-directed work teams.
• Understand and perform to the BN Quality Policy taking pride in the products produced.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous manufacturing experience helpful.
• Manual dexterity, visual acuity, and mental alertness.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds occasionally.
