About the position

The 4-H State Program Manager at Washington State University is responsible for overseeing the onboarding and training of new 4-H Program Coordinators, managing statewide communication and promotion of youth programs, and ensuring compliance with State 4-H policies. This role involves assisting with program management, conflict resolution, and logistical support for State and National 4-H events, while also engaging with diverse communities through educational outreach.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with onboarding and training of new 4-H Program Coordinators.
  • Support Coordinators in all phases of program management, including conflict management.
  • Ensure county 4-H programs adhere to State 4-H policies.
  • Manage statewide communication and promotion of youth programs through social media and outreach.
  • Assist with travel arrangements and contracts for State and National 4-H events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant extension program discipline.
  • Three years of related experience in the program specialty.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience and evaluating community projects.
  • Experience in preparing educational materials for low literacy and diverse populations.
  • Computer software skills, including office software, databases, and electronic calendaring.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for year-round travel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a field related to the position responsibilities.
  • Two years of professionally related experience focusing on youth education.
  • Experience in planning or teaching multi-faceted educational programs for youth.
  • Experience using various types of social media including Facebook, X, TikTok, and Instagram.
  • Effective group facilitation skills.
  • Experience in budget preparation and fiscal management.
