About the position

The firm's lawyers practice in core practice areas centered in a deep understanding of client business and concerns. The Law Librarian will provide expert research and information management services to support attorneys and paralegals and oversee the operation, maintenance, and development of the legal library.

Responsibilities

  • Library Administration including collection development and resource access
  • Legal and factual research including public records and corporate information searches
  • Cite checking
  • Coordinating access to and liaising with online services including Westlaw, Law 360, Accurint, VitalLaw, CNS Plus, Trellis
  • Coordinating inhouse MCLE presentations and overseeing accreditation
  • Preparing and presenting training sessions for attorneys and paralegals including sessions on new and developing tools such as generative artificial intelligence
  • Managing the budget of the legal library and selecting resources that are cost-effective and essential to the needs of the firm
  • Monitoring and advising the firm of developments in legal research and library science including technology
  • Coordinating and overseeing certain Firm and Attorney Professional Listings

Requirements

  • Masters Degree in Library Science or equivalent degree in a related field
  • 3-5 years' research experience in a legal or corporate environment
  • Knowledge of legal materials and electronic resources
  • Experience in training and presenting to groups
  • Experience managing budgets and selecting cost-effective resources
