We are currently looking to grow our architectural team and fill an open position for an architectural project manager in North County San Diego. Our firm holds licenses in both architecture and construction, primarily providing construction defect services, property assessment, scope definitions, reconstruction, renovations, tenant improvements, and other technical consulting services. The ideal candidate will possess a professional and personable demeanor capable of maintaining constructive relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and team members. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential, as the role requires the ability to listen actively, ask questions, take directions, and request guidance when necessary. The position demands a self-motivated individual who is willing to work in a fast-paced environment where a variety of tasks may be assigned daily. Strong organizational skills are crucial, as the candidate must be able to follow through with tasks, communicate project specifics, and provide updates to management. Time management is also a key aspect of the role, requiring the ability to prioritize tasks and respect the time of all stakeholders involved. As an architectural project manager, the candidate will be responsible for architectural design, requiring extensive experience with drafting building plans and blueprints, often in collaboration with engineers and clients. The candidate must be licensed in their state, which necessitates passing the Architect Registration Examination (ARE). Schedule management is another critical responsibility, as the project manager will oversee projects from initial client meetings through to the completion of construction, successfully managing schedules and setting project timelines. Additionally, the role involves budgeting, where the project manager must have a solid grasp of project budgeting to ensure profitability, including determining material needs and costs and reviewing contractor estimates during the planning phase. Team leadership is also a vital component, as the project manager will lead and manage teams, including contractors and other personnel within the architecture firm.
