About the position

The Associate position in the Environmental practice at Nixon Peabody involves working with a nationally recognized team to address environmental law issues. The role focuses on providing strategic guidance to clients navigating complex regulatory landscapes, particularly in areas related to contaminated property, environmental risk transfer, and energy or regulatory law. The ideal candidate will contribute to innovative solutions and collaborate with clients across various industries.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the investigation and remediation of contaminated properties.
• Support litigation processes related to environmental law, including CERCLA/RCRA.
• Provide strategic advice to clients on environmental risk management.
• Collaborate with team members to develop solutions for regulatory challenges.
• Engage with clients in various industries, including renewable energy and higher education.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in environmental law.
• Strong academic credentials and communication skills.
• Experience in science, engineering, or urban planning is preferred.
• Knowledge of the CERCLA/RCRA litigation process is a plus.
• Familiarity with energy or regulatory law is advantageous.

• Experience with environmental risk transfer.
